“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Mindie,
Thanks so much for bringing the quote and such a mental problem to our attention. What a great reminder, as I have committed the same error in my trading many times.
Emerson’s thoughts seem similar to another thought I have heard, the one that goes: “Most traders are only as good as their last trade,” and which leads to the commission of the same from past trades into the current trades.
How much better to leave a bad trade in the rear-view mirror and take each trading day for its own merits, since no trading day is exactly the same as the previous trading day.
My pleasure. And yes, so true.
