How to Know When the Market is Ticking Up or Ticking Down

December 15, 2021 2 Comments

Jim asked about the 1-minute chart on yesterday’s video…

The tick index can be another indication of which way the market is moving.

Here’s how I have mine set up…

The following are the tick index symbols on TradeStation:

  • $TICK – NYSE Tick ($TICKC – NYSE Tick Composite)
  • $TIKI – DOW 30 Tick ($TIKIC – DOW 30 Tick Composite)
  • $TIKQ – NASDAQ Tick
  • $TIKND – NASDAQ 100 Tick
  • $TIKSP – S&P 500 Tick ($TIKSPC – S&P 500 Tick Composite)
  • $TIKRL – Russell 2000 Tick ($TIKRLC – Russell 2000 Tick Composite)
  • $TIKA – AMEX Tick ($TIKAC – AMEX Tick Composite)
  • $TIKR – ARCX Tick ($TIKRC – ARCX Tick Composite)
  • $TIKUS – All US Tick ($TIKUSC – All US Tick Composite)
  • $TIKUSL- All Amex, NASDAQ and NYSE Tick ($TIKUSLC – All Amex, NASDAQ and NYSE Tick Composite)

    Hi Mindie,

Thank you very much for providing this information. I was unaware of the different symbols.
